Dual USB-C/A Car Charger 72W – Support

How to read the LED light battery indicator

Solid white: Everything is working. No further action needed.
Blinking or solid yellow: Car charger or car battery is compromised. Action is needed (see below).
Blinking or solid red: Warning! Car charger or car battery is compromised. Immediate action is needed (see below).

Unisynk’s Dual USB-C/A Car Charger is equipped with a LED light ring which keeps track of the temperature of the car charger and the car battery levels.

The car charger only detects the battery voltage of the car when the engine is turned off. If the engine is started the voltage will be high since the generator is charging the battery.

If the LED light is solid white that means that everything is working and you can proceed as normal. However if the LED light is either yellow or red (blinking or solid) you need to take action. Keep reading to see the recommended actions for each signal.

Blinking light

If the LED light is blinking in yellow or red, it is a warning that the car battery voltage is low and that action is needed.

The car battery voltage is getting a bit too low (Voltage is between 10.5 and 11.5)

Recommended action:

  • Start the engine at your earliest convenience to start charging the car battery up to normal level.

The car battery voltage is too low (voltage is less than 10.5). Do not attempt to start the car engine (unless it’s an emergency) as this might damage the car battery and decrease its capacity.

Recommended action:

  • Contact your car service technician or roadside assistance company to help charge the car battery.

Solid light

If the LED light is solid yellow or red this is a sign that the car charger itself is getting too hot, charging is compromised and that action is needed. A solid white light means that everything is ok and that charging is at full speed.

The car charger is a bit too warm and decreases the maximum charging power in order to continue charging without overheating. In this state, the charger has decreased the maximum charging power of the USB-C outlet from 60W to 30W.

Recommended actions:

  • Make sure the charger is not covered and maximize the open space around it to ensure proper airflow.
  • Make sure that the charger is not in direct sunlight.
  • Decrease the temperature in the coupé by adjusting the AC or opening the windows.

The car charger has reached a temperature threshold, estimating itself to be too hot to continue charging. In this state the car charger has disabled charging so it can cool down.

Recommended actions:

  • Make sure the charger is not covered and maximize the open space around it to ensure proper airflow.
  • Make sure that the charger is not in direct sunlight.
  • Decrease the temperature in the coupé by adjusting the AC or opening the windows.
